Fuji makes great "bridge" models -- fixed-lens cameras way too advanced to be considered point-and-shoots. The HS10 is their bridge, all-in-one, zoom lens reflex, or whatever you'd like to call this subgenre that Fuji holds down. We've seen a 30x zoom lens on other cameras this year, but the HS10 looks like the superior camera (and at $500, it had better be). The CMOS sensor within should allow for great low-light performance; it captures 1080p HD video; and the 10 fps continuous shooting is very speedy. The only downside we see with this model is that you can't change the lens--some photographers will think that not having to carry around big, bulky telephoto lenses is one of its selling points, so it's a matter of personal opinion. Either way, the HS10 looks like a fantastic camera.
